At AnimeRareFinds, we take pride in offering high-quality, authentic anime collectibles and rare finds. We understand that sometimes items may not meet your expectations or issues may arise. This Refund Policy outlines our guidelines for returns, refunds, and exchanges to ensure a fair and transparent process for all our valued customers.
Important: Due to the rare and collectible nature of many of our items, please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. Some items, particularly rare or limited edition pieces, may have specific return restrictions as noted in their product descriptions.
1. Return Eligibility
1.1 Standard Items
For standard, non-limited edition items, the following conditions apply:
- You may request a return within 14 days of receiving your item
- The item must be in its original, unused condition
- Original packaging must be intact and undamaged
- All accessories, documentation, and free gifts (if applicable) must be included
- Proof of purchase must be provided
1.2 Limited Edition and Rare Items
For limited edition, rare collectibles, vintage items, or items marked as "Final Sale":
- Returns are considered only in cases of significant defects not disclosed in the item description
- Any return request must be made within 7 days of receiving the item
- Detailed photographs of the condition issue must be provided
- All original packaging, certificates of authenticity, and accompanying materials must be returned
Each limited edition or rare item return is evaluated on a case-by-case basis by our authentication specialists.
1.3 Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot be returned:
- Items specifically marked as "Non-Returnable" in their description
- Items that have been opened, used, or damaged after receipt
- Items with broken seals (for packaged collectibles where the seal is part of the value)
- Special orders or customized items created to your specifications
- Digital products or downloadable content
- Sale items marked as "Final Sale"
2. Return Process
2.1 Initiating a Return
To initiate a return:
- Contact our customer service team at returns@animerarefinds.com within the eligible return period
- Include your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for your return
- Attach clear photographs showing the condition of the item and any issues (if applicable)
- Our team will review your request and respond within 2 business days with further instructions
Please do not send any items back without receiving return authorization and instructions from our team.
2.2 Return Shipping
When returning an item:
- Package the item securely in its original packaging or equivalent protective materials
- Include all original components, accessories, and documentation
- Use a tracked shipping method that provides proof of delivery
- Insure the shipment for the full value of the returned items
- Include the return authorization number prominently on the outside of the package
2.3 Shipping Costs
Shipping costs for returns are handled as follows:
- Defective or Incorrect Items: If you received a defective item or an item different from what you ordered, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label and reimburse your original shipping costs
- Change of Mind: If you are returning an item due to change of mind or any other reason not related to an error on our part, you are responsible for the return shipping costs
- International Returns: For international orders, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error. Additionally, you are responsible for any customs fees, import duties, or taxes incurred during the return shipping process
3. Refund Process
3.1 Inspection Period
Once we receive your returned item:
- Our specialists will inspect the item to ensure it meets our return requirements
- For rare or limited edition items, our authentication team will verify the item's condition
- This inspection process typically takes 3-5 business days
3.2 Refund Methods
Approved refunds will be processed as follows:
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase
- The refund will include the purchase price of the item
- Original shipping costs are only refunded if the return is due to our error
- Return shipping costs are only refunded if the return is due to our error
3.3 Refund Timeline
After approval of your return:
- Refunds are typically processed within 3-5 business days
- Credit card refunds may take an additional 5-10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your financial institution
- PayPal refunds are typically processed within 24 hours of our refund issuance
You will receive a confirmation email when your refund has been processed.
4. Exchanges
In some cases, you may prefer to exchange your item rather than request a refund:
- Exchanges are available for standard items in stock
- For limited edition or rare items, exchanges are subject to availability
- If the exchange item has a different price, you will either be charged the difference or refunded the difference accordingly
- To request an exchange, follow the same process as initiating a return, but specify that you want an exchange and provide the details of the item you wish to receive instead
5. Damaged or Defective Items
5.1 Damage During Shipping
If your item arrives damaged:
- Document the damage by taking clear photographs of the damaged item and packaging
- Contact us within 48 hours of receiving the package
- Do not discard the original packaging as it may be needed for shipping claims
- We may require you to complete a shipping damage claim form depending on the carrier used
5.2 Defective Products
If you discover that an item is defective:
- Contact us with a detailed description of the defect and supporting photographs
- For collectible figures or complex items, we may request specific photographs from different angles
- In some cases, we may offer partial refunds for minor defects if you prefer to keep the item
Note on Vintage and Pre-owned Items: For vintage or pre-owned items, minor imperfections are considered part of the item's character and history. Our product descriptions aim to accurately detail the condition of such items, including any notable flaws. Returns based on condition issues that were clearly disclosed in the listing will not be accepted.
6. Late or Missing Refunds
If you have not received your refund within the expected timeframe:
- First check your bank account or credit card statement again
- Contact your credit card company or bank, as it may take some time for the refund to be officially posted
- If you've done the above and still have not received your refund, please contact our customer service team with your order details and refund confirmation (if received)
7. Cancellations
Order cancellation policies:
- Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of placement if they have not yet been processed
- Pre-orders may be cancelled anytime before the item is released and charged
- Orders for custom or specially sourced items cannot be cancelled once confirmed
- To request a cancellation, email us at orders@animerarefinds.com with your order number and cancellation request
8. Pre-Orders and Backorders
For pre-ordered or backordered items:
- You may cancel a pre-order at any time before the item is released and your payment method is charged
- If a pre-ordered item's release date is delayed by more than 60 days from the originally announced date, you have the option to cancel for a full refund
- Deposits on premium pre-orders are typically non-refundable unless the item is cancelled by the manufacturer
9. Gift Returns
If you received an item as a gift and wish to return it:
- Contact our customer service with any information you have about the order (gift receipt, order number, etc.)
- Without a receipt or order information, we can offer store credit at the current selling price of the item
- Gift returns will be issued as store credit to avoid refunding the original purchaser
10. Exceptions and Special Circumstances
We recognize that special circumstances may arise that are not covered by this policy. In such cases, please contact our customer service team directly, and we will work with you to find a fair resolution.
Any exceptions to this policy are made at the sole discretion of AnimeRareFinds management and will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
11. Consumer Rights
This Refund Policy does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. If you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have certain rights under applicable consumer protection laws that may extend beyond this policy.
